Aging with severe burn scarring.

If a character of eight years old - a boy, for reference - suffered third-degree burns over the majority of his back, as well as his lower-torso, buttocks and upper-thighs, how would that scarring and the area around it look when he was fourteen years old?

I know from my research on Wikipedia that burns that deep destroy the nerve-endings in the afflicted area, but would there be stretch-marks from the skin there not being able to grow as the rest of his body does? What would his pain response be to someone touching the back of his shoulders if he'd been burned there when he was eight?

The story I'm working on takes place in late 90s Japan, though I don't see what relevance that has to this particular topic.
