Could I have an equivalent of a provberb in Russian, please?

Google has failed me utterly, and I was hoping one of you wise folks could help. I would love to get the Russian equivalent of "To know which side his bread is buttered on" (to be aware of what benefits one's own interests), if there is one.
Example: "She won't bad-mouth her boss; she knows which side her bread's buttered on."
