French Epithet, Russian Speakers

Dec 10, 2011 16:03

I'm told that Pierre le Sanguinaire means Peter the Bloody in French, so how do you say something like Peter the Cold-Blooded in French? Turns out that Pierre le Sangfroid (literally blood-cold) isn't what I'm looking for, but the canon's got a well-known historical figure called Pierre Le Sanguinaire, and I've got a withdrawn/brilliant/ruthless boy descended from him named Pierre -- somebody's got to come up with a "Pierre Le Sang-whatever" epithet for him, it's human nature.

By way of background, the planet this is set on was colonized primarily by Russians with Greek and French minorities, and the people doing the epitheting are in the Russian-descended majority.
