Setting(Where): Texas

I've got a guy in jail, sentenced to life for murder. He is misdiagnosed with cancer and given less than 6 mons to live. According to what I have found on Texas law he wouldn't be eligible for compassionate release.

1) I originally had him in Stiles maximum security prison because the murder he committed was in Houston but the info I have found on this prisons say there is an infirmary and chronic care center but no hospice. Would he be transferred to another prison that had a hospice or would they care for him in the prison he's already in?

2) If transferred what prison would he likely end up in?

3) He was misdiagnosed but he doesn't know that and upon learning of his diagnosis began feel ill, loose weight, everything that comes with that diagnosis.  If he suddenly began showing signs of improvement what would happen to him? Would he just be sent back to his regular cell?

4) I'm also confused about prison hospices in general. Are they usually just a wing in the prison or they in a whole separate building? Are there cells there, are the prisoners kept handcuffed to their beds, or are they not restrained in any way?

ETA: 5) Besides doctors, nurses and visiting family, who else would have access to him?

6) From the info I've found it looks like trustees(other prisoners allowed to join a work team) usually handle the janitorial services. Would a trustee be allowed to mop, change bedding ect in a prison hospice? With the ill prisoner in the room? Or would they only be allowed to come in at certain times when the ill person was scheduled to be out?
I can't think of any other info I need but if you do please let me know.
