Wartime Christmas Traditions

My story this time around takes place in England, 1943 during the December holiday season. It takes place in the Harry Potter universe, so I might have a little bit of leway(?) with this. Mainly, I want to know what people would have done around this time (with war shortages and everything) for Christmas. Traditions that would've happened and things like that. These wizards live in Rye, England, which is a muggle community and therefore wartime shortages affect them (much to Tom Riddle's disgust and anger).
All of these things aside- I want to know what they might've done for christmas dinner and entertainment (I know faintly of christmastide pantomimes, or something like that, from my 8th grade history teacher).
Sorry if I'm a little bit ignorant on the subject- we won't be covering this time period until the end of the year (or next year possibly, judging by how horribly slow this year's history class is going)
