Okay, I've looked EVERYWHERE for information on this, but most of it ends up being about anime, which as we all know
isn't always realistic. Hopefully, some of you JET expats and other culture saavy commentors can help me out here!
In a Japanese high school classroom, what's the role of the class representative? Is there just one, or a male and female representative? If the latter, how are their duties divided up? How is the class representative chosen - is it done by the teacher, at random, or by voting? I feel like a lot of things I assumed the representative takes care of seem to be divied out evenly among the class, so that throws me off a little. General information about the typical setup of a Japanese classroom would be a lot of help too!
How is the class representative different from student council? Do they have a role there, or is it an entirely different organization? Additional information about student council, or at least how it differs from the US, would be appreciated as well.
Thank you! Any information would be a big help. ♥ Additionally, any other resources on popular hobbies and entertainment for Japanese students would be loved.
