Piano - Classics question.

I have an talented eight-year old pianist. He isn't professional but he learns quickly and loves music. The person teaching him is his very traditional father who plays too but is "only good, not great." I need a classic piano piece. Maybe a Sonata? I also need an example of a question he would have about the sheet music while practicing it. The idea is to show how well he picks things up.
