Native Americans and the brewing of alcohol...
I'm trying to find any information on native Americans and the making of any sort of alcohol, whether it be for cerimonial purposes or just plain drinking. I found one reference here:

that said there was 'evidence that corn had been used to make alcohol', but that's it. Most searches only turn up things about alcoholism in native Americans so...
*Did* any tribes make a fermented beer or alcohol of some sort before the coming of Europeans? Or were they totally ignorant of the making of fermented beverages? That seems unlikely but i can't find anything. Thanks!
