Trying to write this without getting too emotional. :/
I loved this episode. Loved it. It does annoy me a bit when they start the episode right in the action and then go "24 hours earlier." For some reason the time jumping irritates me.
But, anyway! Dean's nightmare scene. I loved this part. Sam looked kinda adorable snuggled up in his bed like that. And it looks like he's sorted out his room to be a bit more like home. And then the heartwrenching screams from Dean, and he's wide awake and rushing down the hallway (barefoot!!) to protect his brother. *hearts* It's a beautiful, but sad scene, and Jensen played that nightmare sooooo well. And Sam's face when he bursts into the room, all the emotions in his face in just a few seconds. These guys break my heart, and I love them.
Dean saying he slept like a "drunk baby" was hilarious, but kind of sad at the same time. Because Sam KNOWS he had a nightmare, but Dean doesn't know that Sam knows (although it IS possible Dean doesn't remember the dream at all - unlikely, but possible - in which case maybe he really does think he had slept like a drunk baby), so he's still lying to him. And speaking of lying, the thing about the French movie? Love it. The whole conversation.
SAM: Actually, I was thinking about seeing a movie.
DEAN: Yeah, that could be cool.
SAM: It's a French movie.
DEAN: You mean like nudie French?
SAM: Even better. It's about a mime that's secretly a cockroach.
DEAN: I-I don't get it.
SAM: Dude, The New York Times said -
DEAN: Who cares?
SAM: All right, well . . . It's playing in Wichita, so I might not be back till morning.
DEAN: Well, I trust you. Make good choices.
SAM: Right. You know, I mean . . . I don't have to go alone . . .
DEAN: It's fine. Besides, I could use a little "me" time.
SAM: All right. Stay out of my room.
DEAN: Totally.
And that little smirk Dean hides behind his cup! You just know he's going to go into Sam's room, because Sam specifically made a point of telling him not too.
The stuff Dean was doing in Sam's room. Hilarious. And Dean's having sooo much fun with it. Hahaha! I was giggling the whole time. It was a little taste of the old Dean.
Another taste of old Dean was hanging at the bar, ordering a giant plate of food, and then playing pool so he can make some cash with those college kids. I loved him scruffing up his hair and faking being drunk. Loved it.
I loved seeing Bobby again. He's a great character.
I actually loved Cas in this episode. Loved him. He was great, totally on top of his game. He was also funny. Saying he was going to break down the door. Taking Metatron's grace, saying Metatron would be his punching bag, telling Sam to shoot Metatron, saying Sam will "blow your freakin' brains out." I really enjoyed Cas in this one. He was awesome.
CASTIEL: I'm an Angel.
PRYCE: That . . . No, you can't be.
CASTIEL: Why not?
PRYCE: Because I'm an atheist.
SAM: Not anymore.
Dean's black eyes. I saw this in one of the promos, so it wasn't a shock when it happened. The fear and horror on his face though. :(
So, Dean cannot die. Or, rather, the Mark Of Cain will not let his body die. Interesting developments.
I was so proud of Dean for holding himself back. You are stronger than the Mark, Dean!
Rowena is all the things Dean said about her. I love the Crowley finally kicked her out.
Oh, and "the Bobbys are surly," was funny too. Bobby's plan was great. I hope he's going to be ok now. :(
Metatron getting threatened by Sam and Cas, and getting shot! Love it. He deserved it, and way more than that too.
Dean eating crunchy food in the Bunker, asking Sam about the movie, and Sam lying, and Dean lying right back at him.
It's too bad the episode ended on such an emotional note. I really wanted to see the results of Dean's pranks, Sam finding out about it and stuff and it would have been funny and I would have finished off the episode laughing my head off. But it was a really lovely thing from Bobby. Saying Sam was a good man, and that he shouldn't hide his plans from Dean, and no matter what happens next Bobby's glad he got to help them again, and keep fighting (Always Keep Fighting! *hearts*).
Oh, great, now I'm getting emotional again. Overall, a really good solid episode.
For some reason we have a two week break now. :( I want to find out what happens next!! But at the same time, I'm already living in fear about the finale.
