The Future Starts Now!
So as most of you probably know, I've been back in Germany for over a week now. Yesterday, my mum left for home, which means I am now alone again till summer! Not counting a planned short visit from my dad some time around late May or June. So this means that
a) I'll finally get around commenting on all the stuff that's been going on on the comm
b) I'll finally be able to drawwwwwww again~
c) my summer term is about to start!
I have a lot of plans, I want to change a lot of things, increase my productivity, practice with more regularity, and simply lead an awesome life. I think I have all the tools to accomplish that, I just need to use them the right way. <3 I'm going to share some of my plans here, since I think I'll need people poking me into getting on with them. xD
1. I want to create a practice blog. Meaning, I will create a blog - on blogspot, most likely - which I will update daily with my progress on my cello practices. It will serve as my practice diary, and it will also contain timers/countdowns for various deadlines (date of next cello class, date of next class concert, hours I practice during the week, dates of exams, etc etc). I will also keep a list of rewards on it, for when I reach goals or keep tight plans. Once I've created it, I'll link it here on my LJ. I'd hugely appreciate comments on there, to keep me motivated! <3
2. For the above and other reasons, I want to freshen up and expand my knowledge on HTML and CSS. Already started with that yesterday~ I want to be able to properly code my own blogs, and possibly also in the future a website for myself. This includes my LJ! :D
3. I want to do more crafty stuff! Mostly to make lovely things for myself, such as costum notebooks, folders, keychains, boxes for storing stuff... The reason for that is that I've been told that bringing more creativity into my daily life will actually improve my motivation and concentration for "serious" things like practicing. If any of you have good tutorial/inspiration sites or blogs you want to recommend, go right ahead! <3 I miiiight create a seprate blog for that as well, but I'm not sure yet. Maybe I'd make it an addition tumblr one.
4. Ok, this is a big one. I've decided that my main aim in life will be to open up classical music to a broader audience. The people I want to reach the most are, on the one hand, children and teenagers, and on the other adults who haven't had the possibility to get acquainted with it. I have concepts in my head of special concerts for just those target groups... Most of it is rather vague as of now. Another thing I want to do is write books for children/teenagers. It would be the perfect combination of all my passions/talents: music, writing, and drawing. I would illustrate the books myself, I would (as far as possible) provide records to go along with the books... I want to write books about the history of music on the one hand, and about composers and musicians themselves on the other. Another idea I had was to take so-called program music, and make picture books for them - but also inviting children at the end of the book to come up with their own ideas and pictures for the music.
So that's that. And I feel a lot more energetic already, just having written all of that down. xD I will keep this journal updated with my progress on all the things I listed, and probably add more as well. I'll do my best to make all these things happen, because it feels right to do all these things. ♥
