Hi there, glad you liked it. Ok... my recommedation would be to add whatever text you want to the icon first. Then create a new later under your text layer.
Select the rectangle tool from the tools palette. Then in the very top left of the screen there are 3 buttons, if you hover over them you'll see they're called -
Shape Layers Paths Fill Pixels
Select Shape Layers (the one on the left) and on your new layer draw out the box behind the text. The reason I said to choose Shape Layers is this - once your box is in, if you click on the box layer in the layers pallette (it should look like a block of colour with a layer mask) you can bring up the colour picker and tweak the colour to your hearts content.
When you're happy with it, either merge the box and text together or link them in the layers patlette. Then Ctrl+T and rotate them slightly.
