you mean there's a hurricane out there???

it's so neat sometimes...

i don't have television to make me paranoid about what's happening in the gulf and headed towards us. of course, paranoia would do me so little good...

i must clock into work at normal hours on monday if i expect to have a job on tuesday. no excuses about inclement weather. all staff are welcome to arrive at any time on Sunday and clock in. remain on the clock for the entirety of the event but only working your regular assigned shift. we may leave after our regular shift ends on tuesday. yeah, i get to spend a minimum of 36 hours straight at work! and my patients love me. when i show up off-duty to visit, they ask me to get things done for them. they are gonna be asking the ENTIRE time i am there. i am free to bring my family if necessary, but i think that brad is going to take my girls to texas. there are a LOT of tall trees surrounding this house, some are dead or have dead limbs. after a "regular" thunderstorm, we find limbs all over. here's to hoping we don't come home to find a whole tree in the house. and yes, it's already happened to this house once before. brad is planning to take all of the computer materials with him. that's about all he could fit in the trunk. i'm gonna get him to take the photos too. the things we think are important when they could be taken from us....

i'm not scared. a little worried, but more about things like.. getting to work and having to spend ALL that time there. and then getting off work. we really don't have the money to leave but brad can't stand the thought of staying in the nursing home with all the old people. that doesn't bother the kids. if i knew that i had an empty room on my unit i could commandeer for him and the girls, i would do it in a heartbeat, but i don't have one. only one bed in my unit is empty and that's a "male" bed. the parts of this thing i worry about are really just about the money. that's always my biggest thing. the money. i just can't stop thinking that it won't be THAT bad here in hammond, but we are closer that i want to admit to the coast.

ugh.

at least i'll be in a place with a generator. that will feed me. :D

oh and i get all my updates online... www.theneworleanschannel.com has streaming weather reports 24 hours, live. click on the weather plus link. like i said, i don't have TV (i mean, i don't have any reception, all we use are dvds)
