Okay, these are lyrics I wrote back in high school, but I modified them a little for the song I made up on the guitar tonight. The song is a fable I made up about how the oceans got their salt.
----------------------------
In the dark of the night,
when all was violet,
On a black, placid shore
I stood in the weed.
And I saw in the distance
The great bloom of a lotus
That shone white in the darkness,
Unlike the new moon.
^How great / Has the lily shone / Releasing its purity / Give it to the sea
^Today / Sing la da da di da / To the shimmering waters / Shining under the sun
The lily was vibrant,
A magical beacon,
That was cradled by foliage
In the freshwater sea.
Then the lovely white flower
Burst into a white powder
That like flint or like glitter
Shone luminously.
*No longer a blossom,
crystals road on the sea foam,
making all incandescent;
Pearls thrown into waves.
When by dawn all had settled,
The sun shone on the waters.
The weeds were lacy and crusted
By the salty marine.
^How great / Has the lily shone / Releasing its purity / Give it to the sea
^Today / Sing la da da di da / To the shimmering waters / Shining under the sun
