We took dad to the bone dr. yesterday.
He has to get surgery on both legs and cannot put any weight on either of them for quite a long time.
He has been told to lay down with his feet above his heart to keep the swelling down.
It needs to go down before he can get the operation and they were really puffy.
He is sposed to lay like that "23 hours a day". He's going to go stark raving mad.
He has to quit smoking because the risk of infecting is multiplied by like a million.
That'll drive him crazy too. When the dr. mentioned amputation if they get infected I kinda freaked out in my head.
That's worse case cenario I'm assuming. I've heard of people dieing from infections tho, scary.
Dr. said his recover is gonna be like, three months. I'm thinking three months before he can even put weight on them.
We're getting him a hospital bed and sticking it in the living room...so he can move it around and up and down and shit.
Monday we go back to the dr. to check them and he'll decide if he's ready to operate.
Other than that no news.
Thanks everyone who wished him well! It really helps. I told him of your well wishes.
