No one comments on my lj anymore, it makes me sad. Maybe I'll just switch over to Xanga entirely.
I'm really excited about making presents for everyone. I've got some good ideas, I think, I hope, anyways.
I've been helping with VBS at our church. And by helping, I mean sprawling across the youth room's couches, watching TV, and talking to people. But I seriously can't wait to start working at New Hope, this inner cities church in Dallas, where I volunteered for a week last year. This year, I hope to work for four of the five weeks they're running the camp/VBS type thing. I absolutely adore those kids. It's so much work, and it can be incredibly frustrating, but I love it.
I'm not gonna date this summer. I know that sounds crazy, but it just feels true. Now I'm sure that makes even more sense, wow, it just feels true. I don't know how else to explain it, though. I guess I'm just too protective of my independence still, too scared to let people get close to me. Aint that a bitch. Meh. I really hope there are some good guys at UTA, not just ricers and other various Asian stereotypes.
At first, I didn't understand the big craze over Death Cab for Cutie. Now that I've bought one of their CDs, I do. Their music is beautiful. I don't know how it makes me feel. Thoughtful, mellow? Mayhaps.
Why can't people just accept that it's in our nature to change? Yeah, it makes me sad, too, but it happens. You accept it and adapt and move on with your life. But instead, noo, some people freeze and get stuck in the moment where they thought they'd be happiest. Their muscles atrophy and when they try to catch up, they can't, because it took them so long to even attempt it. So they cling to anyone, anything, that could possibly save them, because the ground beneath their feet is like an old, deteriorating photograph, and it crumbles away, turning into quicksand that is swallowing them, devouring them with misery. If you think that anyone but yourself can save you, I'm really, really sorry.
