Thanks so much for these kind words, Kelly. They seriously make me blush! Writing Forge was an absolute treat. The guy is just such an astute sweetheart and an absolute dork, and I was nervous about this fic simply because I love that about him and was scared that I had not gotten that across...which would have made me no better than the writers who decided that Forge would be the walking joke of the show. By all means, let him be the comic relief, but let him be a CHARACTER too, you know?
Domino was so much fun too. I totally didn't see her and Rogue's history coming out the way it did, but Rogue!muse came out of no-where during Scott and Logan's super-tense conversation, and then wanted to comfort Forge when Domino left, and I as a writer was all WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?
And Lordy, Scott and Logan. Oooooooh, Scott and Logan. I'd love to write something that specifically addresses that inherent tension between them, since apparently the WatXM writers are too chicken to actually give Scott a spine so there's actually someone who can/will stand up to Logan play with the internal politics of the X-Men in a new way. Perhaps they fear the combination of foe-yay and ho-yay?
(My fic, just for the record, would probably focus on the Emma/Scott/Jean/Logan love polygon, the tribulations of being hot for telepaths, and the guys' attempts to out-martyr one another. HOMG PLOT BUNNIES STOP THAT.)
However, if they manage to both bring back Emma and bring some snarky!Scott to the yard in to season two, then I will be SO DAMN APPEASED.
