The date is currently, for the record, June 9th, 2008.
My last seizure was January 9th, 2008.
This means that as of today, the following is true:
1) I am five months seizure free.
2) There is exactly one month from now until the point where I will be allowed to drive again.
3) I am very pleased about this. I've been such a good girl these past five months, and now it's finally paying off.
Mildly obsessive personality that I am, I've already got a battle plan worked out for this coming month. I have doctors to see, blood tests to get done, a neurologist to book an appointment with, and other various channels of the medical system to navigate my way through in a relatively short amount of time.
This isn't to say that it's not doable. I've wrestled my way through the screwed up mobius strip of the healthcare system before and come out swinging. I'll do it again, and come out with my mutha-effin' driver's license. That is, if my body doesn't decide to crap out on me before July 9th, anyhow.
You will hopefully now understand what a significant period these next few weeks are going to be for me. Prayers, good thoughts, positive energy and the like aimed in my direction over this next little while will be deeply, deeply appreciated.
