Hey Juliet? I think you're fine. You really blow my mind...

Blame an old friend on facebook for this one. For good or for ill, it's entirely her fault. I originally replied to a status of hers regarding opinions on Romeo and Juliet, writing a short paragraph. The mistake I made was going back and reading it afterwards.

It isn't that it was a bad paragraph, mind you. Especially since I was really only half- ( Read more... )

I have never thought of R&J as romantic, despite the presence of a romance. It's a tragedy, just as labeled on the tin! However, your breakdown here is completely wonderful (And man, do I EVER want to slap the Nurse when she backs out of helping Juliet. Every. Single. Time.)

It's been a very tiring (but excellent) week at Disney for me; deeper thoughts are currently impossible. I hope you are enjoying the start of your summer, and I would love for you to stick the complete links in here for #s 2 and 4.

Thanks for the compliment! All of this feels self-evident to me (now) to the point where I almost feel silly going through it. Me, personally, I was always more angry with the Friar. Now I always feel like slapping both.

DISNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY! I'm so happy you had a good time. I haven't been since I was an itty bitty thing.

Here's the full musical, subtitles and all.

As for the Quebecois film, you're going to have to give me a couple days to upload it. I'm heading to the Coast where I have a much better internet connection and unlimited upload/download. The file works best if you have VLC media player, seeing as the subtitles are a separate file that you have to open while playing the video. Unless you've got a different method or what have you. Point being, I'll get it to you.

Not a problem doll!

I'm just trying to find a site to upload the film and subtitles for you. They're too big for sendspace. Again, just give me time.

(Though if you have recommendations for filesharing...)

Take all of the time you need, my lovely!

I wish I DID have good recommendations for file sharing - then, the Shakespeare movies my students crafted fourth quarter wouldn't mostly have been lost (iMovie may be great for filming on a showstring, but it's just about impossible to find a place big enough to upload such things from a school-owned iPad, considering all of the sites the district blocks!).
