Tick, tick, tick, tick on the watch, and life's too short for me to stop.

1) Normally, I like to set out my new year's resolutions on the 31st. I only managed a brief plan, the major one of which related to reading.

I ended up looking at my rather daunting 'to read' list. I ended up paring it down a significant amount, even after adding some of the recommendations you were all so kind as to give me as well as a couple ( Read more... )

Admirable. Truly. I'm always in awe of people who commit to writing schedules and the like; I can't do it. I'd love to make that a resolution of mine as well, but I know I'd break it. See my absolute failure at NaNoWriMo and my refusal to share anything further from it.
(How far ahead do you stay with Reeducation, by the by?)

I have the distinct advantage of small classes, and some units I set up ahead of time...or at least can use as guides. Plus, I can fly pretty fast and loose with Health and Careers 8 and 9, so it isn't like I'm some super planner. It seems you made it through your 5.5 hours though. Hope you were okay teaching so far this week.

Skyfall made me want to flip tables over and scream WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY a lot. And buy the mug that Q uses, drink some tea out of it, and then scream WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY some more. That, and hey! Potentially bisexual Bond!
I won't say a word about Dark Knight Rises or Les Mis. You gotta come to your own conclusions with those ones.

I hope everything with the grad program works out. I'm still in conversation with smarter folks than I about details and whatnot. Perhaps this whole thing (or perhaps the start, at least) should be part of my new year plan? Glad I at least come across like I know what I'm doing. Heh.

Sadly, I don't have a specific writing schedule - it is still taking second place to school stuff. I need to change that. Maybe I need to reserve an hour-plus each night, regardless of how school things are going. They're not paying me for my evenings, after all....

For Reeducation, the next story arc is the only completed one. After that, there are two that are drastically incomplete, on which I need to be working if I ever want to post them. SciFiGrl47 doesn't write with me anymore, which makes me sad (though I think I saw that Katt recommended some of her Averngers work on AO3 to you before Xmas, and it's definitely worth reading), but there have been many arcs in the past where she lost interest before they were done and I completed them solo. They just weren't missing so much as the final two are! Still, leaving the epic at the end of the next arc would leave it on a tragic note, so I don't want to do that.

Small classes are awesome when it comes to grading, very very true, but you still have a large number of different plans!

Okay, Skyfall's frustrating and agonizing, check! LOL I love Les Mis, and I've enjoyed the little making of snippets, so I expect I'll have a good time even if it doesn't quite live up to the hype. Dark Knight... argh, I've let myself be spoiled, and some of their story choices I find... confusing? But I still want to give it a shot, as does TAHtm.

I think it already is part of your new year plan - I mean, you're doing things related to it, and exploring possibilities, right? To me, that totally counts.
