1) I'm currently reading my 80th book this year. Well, more accurately, am puttering away at 80, 81, and 82 at the same time. I have an awful habit of keeping a few books on the go at one time.
My reading list has finally shrunk some (PRAISE GOD), and only has 51 books left on it. I was even a good girl and showed all kinds of restraint -- there

There were more and more X-Men as well, which thankfully matched the world's growing need for their help.
Scott had really only seen one option. Strike forces.
He'd proposed the idea to the Professor, who while initially reluctant (he disliked the increasingly military nature of the X-Men, given his original vision of what they should be) ended up agreeing. The need was too great to ignore.
This all led to the entirety of the X-Men being seated in the war room, waiting for Scott to explain himself. Outlining the idea behind the strike forces -- two teams, two Blackbirds, therefore twice the capability, so on and so forth -- he then introduced the team leaders, who he'd selected and spoke with before the meeting.
"Rogue is going to lead the Red Team, and Logan's in charge of the Blue Team. We've written up the rosters, so listen up."
The names were read off.
Jamie, Bobby, Amara, and Sam were Reds. Ray, Roberto, Rahne, and Cessily would be Blues.
The younger, new batch of so-called New Recruits as well as the senior X-Men (Kitty, Kurt, and the rest of them) were divided up as well, but Cessily didn't hear those names. She stopped listening once her own was called.
She stayed behind after Scott dismissed everyone. The only other person in the room was Logan, who sat down on the table next to her, and watched her carefully.
"What's on your mind?" he asked.
"Just thinking," she said softly, looking at her shoes. "I'm trying to figure out how the hell this was all worked out. It's weird. Feels like gym class or something."
"I asked for you, Ces."
She looked up sharply, silver flashing brightly from beneath the hood of her omnipresent hoodie. "You what?"
"I've seen you in the Danger Room. I've seen you out in the field. Kid, I'd take you at my back any day."
"You're serious."
"Yeah. I am. You think I'd want to miss out on having the girl who took out a sentinel by becoming one on my team?"
Cessily curled in a little on herself, which seemed to exasperate Logan. He spoke gently regardless.
"Ces, you seriously need to work on this whole self-esteem bit. You're good at what you do, I want you on my team, end of story."
She gulped silently. "I'd hug you, but I'm pretty sure you wouldn't like it."
"Oh, come on now," Logan said, though it was half-hearted. "No sappy Hallmark moments, okay? Just be in the Danger Room tomorrow at five. I've got some drills I want run you Blues through."
Cessily smiled, though it was more something heard than seen. "Sure thing."

Cessily is always so shy when I write her! It's weird, and I was nervous that my take on her here wouldn't quite work. I'm so glad you enjoyed it! She's lovely to write. Blue Team is going to be such a confidence booster for her, at least as far as my headcanon (which, given that Cessily was never in the show is pretty much everything about her) goes.
You're so very welcome! Always more than happy to deliver the goods. :)
