But you don't know which page to turn to, do you?

(Is there anyone who'd like to speak?)

Yeah. Yeah, I would.

Uh, hi. I'm Percy, and I have a book problem.

(Hi Percy.)

At home, I have this list of books I want to get through before I buy any more. It's about, I dunno, fifty books long, maybe more. I'm not sure. I had it down to forty-eight, and I was really proud of myself. I thought I was making progress in pushing through them. I bought more as Christmas came closer though, which is why my list got so long.

I've got three on the go right now. "Mythology" by Edith Hamilton, "The Once and Future King" by T. H. White, and "The Cat's Table" by Michael Ondaatje.

But I have "The Talented Mister Ripley" on hold at the library too. I'm supposed to pick it up tomorrow. And I ordered five books online with Amazon gift cards. They're graphic novels, but I'm not sure that makes a difference. I...I just keep reading and buying and I know I need to stop. Starting today.

I mean, there's one book coming out in April that I want to buy. Desperately. I want to say that's the one concession to my goal of "not buying any more books until I've gotten through my list", but I don't know how well that's going to go. It's a new year, right? I figure this is a good resolution. This one book. That's all.

So, that's me. My story.

(Thank you, Percy.)
