A day off work. Most definitely a blessing, seeing as how there's stuff I need and want to do.
Seeing as I'm a dork for lists and getting stuff done, behold. A record of what I wish to accomplish that you will likely not care about at all.
1) Clean the house.
This is going to be nice, as I get to do it while listening to the audiobook for "Fellowship of the Ring". I'm all of a sudden on a kick again after a conversation with Amber last night. Plus, the house isn't especially bad right now. It shouldn't take more than an hour or so to do it top to bottom, and it's the sweeping that's going to be the worst of it. This is probably because Joe's been working so much lately he hasn't had the opportunity to ruin the house. Hey, I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. I'm just going to go and clean the place.
2) Watch some bonus features. Possibly.
I ended up watching "The Fellowship of the Ring: The Extended Edition" last night. Again, this was due to that conversation with Amber. I fell in love with the film all over again, and feel the need to watch all the lovely videos about the behind the scenes stuff. I don't know if I actually will. I may instead start "The Two Towers: The Extended Edition". Oh, Viggo Mortensen. WHY SO AWESOME?
3) Wait for a phone call from the school I interviewed at.
My contact is supposed to get in touch with me today so we can arrange a date and time for that working interview that they want me to come in for. I can hardly wait.
4) Read.
I started "Mob Rules" by Cameron Haley because its sequel (which I stocked at work a couple weeks ago) looked interesting. I'm not in love with the book, but I kind of want to finish it before it's due back at the library just to be able to say I finished it. If I can press through the last hundred pages this evening, that'd be nice. It shouldn't be too hard, seeing as it's a really light, brisk read. I have no idea why I keep trying all this urban fantasy stuff when everything I've tried from the genre has led me to conclude it's not my bag. Sigh.
5) If time, write.
I think my major goal today in terms of writing is to work out a definitive outline for "Conflict of Interests". I've got the setup done (though I'm worried that Lois has figured out too much too quickly), and I've got the ending down (though I need to figure out who walks away with what), but I need to solidify the sucker in my head.
Right. So it's pretty much eleven o'clock. I should get on some of this crap.
