A while back, I took ficlet requests.
Now, all of these ficlets grew bigger than the intended 100-300 words I'd envisioned at the start, but they're done now and here they are. Presented for everybody's edification, FIC. Enjoy.
TITLE: The Best Years Of Our Lives (Aren’t As Easy As They Seem)
FANDOM: X-Men Evolution
CHARACTERS: Rogue, Kitty, Bobby, Scott. Jean and Duncan by mention.

SUMMARY: Computer nerdery, girls on the prowl, and not even getting sloppy seconds. Something about all this seems kind of familiar.

“Black Betty” is playing in the background at the end. Youtube, unfortunately, failed me. None of the remixes I found were quite what I was going for, and Scarlett!Muse disapproved strongly of a lot of the electronica-style ones out there.

SUMMARY: Dean’s not exactly a wordsmith. It’s not the best excuse, but sometimes it manages to work.

While she gave me three songs to work with, it was Woodpigeon’s “Home As A Romanticized Concept Where Everyone Loves You Always And Forever” that kick-started something. Also, first foray into writing proper fic for Supernatural with a specific attempt to channel Dean’s voice. Success? Failure? You tell me.
