1) The
Wonderword puzzle in the paper today had "Criminal Minds (TV Show)" as it's theme. I've become an absolute dork for Criminal Minds this year, ever since I discovered that a channel out my way does mini-marathons every Friday and Saturday night. Let the record show that I enjoyed the puzzle with coffee and a smile. That's a good way to start a day.
2) Dave has tickets to two different concerts over the next few months, and I found out the other day he's taking me to both of them. This is probably because I'm the only other person in the family who likes the bands, but whatever. Point being I get to see Tool in July, Stone Sour in September, and I'm psyched. Great music is always made better by good company. Dave is a great concert buddy. He loves the music as much as I do, and it's always nice to have someone larger and stronger than you are looking out for you at shows...as I'm sure any super-petite gal can tell you.
3) If my count is correct, I've read somewhere between ten and fifteen books since I've been out of school. It's so nice to be reading for pleasure again, and that stack of books on my desk marked "TO READ" is finally shrinking. I have a checklist and everything because I'm a geek that way and because checklists and I are engaged in a torrid love affair of organization.
Right now I'm working through 'The Tenant of Wildfell Hall'. Not sure what's next on the docket, but it doesn't matter. Some people binge-drink; I binge-read, and I love it.
4) Jewels' graduation ceremony -- yep, up and off to University in September for her; I'm so incredibly proud -- is next weekend, and out of town family is coming down to visit. This will be great. I'll be able to catch up with the grandparents from both sides, and Dad will be coming with his fiancee too. I'm hoping to do something with Dad on Saturday, as
y_draig_goch and
girlfrom10thave want to do a day-trip to Seattle on Sunday for some coffee and cross-border shopping. I work the morning/afternoon Saturday, and have the Sunday off, so everything should work out neatly.
5) This has been an overwhelmingly positive entry. I am pleased with this. Life's awesome today, even though it's just ten in the morning. You know what? Let's keep this party going. I'm gonna go get a quick bite, and pop on some Supernatural until I have to go catch the bus for my doctor's appointment. Nothing serious, promise -- just a routine prescription refill.
In conclusion? Life = good. Have some Hawksley Workman. It's what I'm dancing to right now.
(Bah-dump-tssssssh.)
