You just gotta learn to have a laugh.
Reasons why today is AWESOME:
1) VIOLA CAN BE SAVED. I'm working off her new hard-drive now, which means I spent last night getting all my music from my iPod back on to the computer and re-uploading various different pieces of software.(THANK YOU SO MUCH JEWELS FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND YOUR KNOW-HOW. YOU ARE A PRINCESS AMONGST WOMEN.)
I'm now just waiting for a call with the official quote and more exact information about what can be saved off the old hard-drive. THANK YOU UNIVERSE. Flist, please keep your fingers crossed that they manage to recover all my school stuff.
2) I'm ahead on my marking. Which is great, seeing as I came home with a huge stack of it to take care of this weekend. My practicum is officially over as of Wednesday though. I have yet to determine how I feel about that. I think you can expect a navel-gazing, summative sort of entry on the whole experience soon.
3) I now have a bookcase just for my comics. Sucker cost me sixty bucks, but it's big and beautiful and provides room for my collection to grow. This also means more space on my main bookshelf for those books that had been stacked up on my desk for forever, and books that I will purchase in the future.
4) Making a pilgrimage to the big-ass comic store downtown with Socks tomorrow. The problem here being that I now have more room for comics. This translates in my fannish brain as "BUY MOAR". Is this good, bad, or ugly? Time will tell.
