Catching up, and stuff
Ok, ok, it's been a long time since I posted. I only have one reader anyway, and we usually catch up on IM's. But you know..... here it is:
I been in a funk, but that seems to be alleviating.
First, on this Friday, May 23rd (5/23), I want to say: Hail Eris!
It has been a thoroughly Discordian day so far, but in a good way. First off, it's Friday, which is like Sunday for Discordians. And in true Erisian fashion, Our Lady provided much amusement for the day. First we went to get gasoline (my roommate and I), and were promptly set upon by a cashier from inside the store, who informed us that there was some sort of promotion sponsored by Budweiser today, and then she gave us a food sample. We went inside for sodas and we were attacked with another sample. Bonus! So we filled out entry forms for the drawings they were having (one for a cruise, and one for a Budweiser mini-fridge/cooler.) Then we went to the massive selection of carbonated non-alcoholic beverages, and lo and behold! Mountain Dew has three new flavors of soda out. All three have ginseng in them, and judging by the taste, they're using a natural extract, not a synthesis. (It has a flavr!) I got one called Voltage, which is blue raspberry/citrus. YUM! My roomie got one called Revolution, which was mixed berry. So after NOM-ing our free half sammiches, we paid for our drinks and went out to the Budweiser truck, where we were treated to hot dogs! (Hot dogs are like Discordian communion food.)
Then we went to the bank, and on to Wal-Mart. It was relatively painless, although I did get sidetracked by many shiny things. But I got a bunch of seeds (I'm starting a vegetable garden) and I'm happy with the selection. Jalapenos were a must, and I got 4 kinds of squash, tomatoes, wax beans, broccoli, spinach, and okra. (I be makin' Gumbo come harvest time, cherie! Aiee!)
Then it was on to the bookstore. The Force was with us; there was a parking spot right in front! I nabbed a book on herbs, my roomie found a copy of Johnny Got His Gun, and we picked up the final Legacy of the Force book, Invincible. Yay! And all that shopping today for just under $100!
Been working on a collaborative fanfiction crossover with
linterambiel, which has been loads of fun. I forgot how much I love Stargate, even though Ba'al is my avatar. LOL!
