HELLO I AM: Linda
AND I LIVE IN: Tucson, which is on Arizona time (Mountain time in the winter, but no DST in the summer)
AND I'VE SURVIVED THIS MANY YEARS SO FAR: 53
MY FACE LOOKS LIKE THIS:
Quick Bio: I'm currently a 4th grade teacher (age 9 turning 10), have a BA in English/Creative Writing, a MIS (information systems) that's practically useless, and two cats who adore me (especially at 3 in the morning).
Literary Interests: I especially enjoy science fiction, fantasy, and dystopia. I just finished reading the Hunger Games trilogy over Christmas vacation. I love the Darkover series (Marion Zimmer Bradley) and the Harry Potter series.
Current Projects: This year I was actually successful at NaNoWriMo, for only the third time in seven tries. It obviously needs quite a bit of editing, but there was an actual story by the time I was done! I have some other partial stories and some that I have to figure out what to do with. I decided to try the 365 Project (daily photo) and have managed to do day one. I like to quilt, but I usually make quilts in the summer when I have more time and space.
Comfort Level: I don't exactly enjoy critique, but I definitely need it because what is in my head doesn't always land on paper. (For example, I tend to mention that I used to be a nun, but never know what else to write about it besides that little bit.) Additionally, my writing can tend to include subtleties that people miss.
Other Interests: I am getting into Doctor Who, now that I can finally access it. I don't watch TV much except for a few favorites, if I remember they're on. I used to love when Barnes & Noble had their "university." That's where I first heard of The Artist's Way.
