Way back when, I posted about getting
my first tattoo as a graduation present to myself, and last Friday I finally went out and got it!
Please excuse the mess; the photo was taken as I was taking the bandage off, which would be why it's still stuck :p The words are the very last ones from 'Body of a Woman,' Poem One from Pablo Neruda's 20 Love Poems and a Song of Despair.
It was done by Lydia K. at Utility Tattoo in Halifax, NS, and the whole process went really smoothly (although it hurt like hell). I'm so, so pleased with how it turned out, and that it's not misspelled in any way, haha. The at-least-a-year-long decision process for the next tattoo has already begun, and as much as I love text, I think I'll try to find something graphic for the next one, although still literary. I'll let you know how that turns out :)
