I'm getting my second tattoo in the next week or so, but I'm struggling with the placement. I know, I know... everyone seems to have this problem. i'm going to vote for the side, just because it might look a bit out of place sitting there right in the centre of your back with nothing around it. that's just how it comes across in my head though, i'm sure it'll look good anywhere you get it. :]

I think the lines might look nice centred on your upper back, as in above where your bra would rest, but if you're thinking lower, that would probably look quite nice as well. I like the idea of it centred on the spine, but that might just be my fondness of symmetrical tattoos.

I kinda agree with what the poster above me said--I like the idea of it higher up, between your shoulderblades, above the band of your bra. That'll keep it low enough that you won't be able to see it in the vast majority of street clothing, too. I feel like if it's in the center or lower part of your back, it'll look like it's just hanging out all by its lonesome. Or maybe, if you're not big on symmetry, high on the ribs, like, close to your boob?
