Paper flowers

My favorite book in the world is Flowers in the Attic by VC Andrews, and I want to base my next tattoo on it. If you haven't read the book: a mother locks her four children in a single bedroom in her wealthy parents' mansion, in order to hide their existence from her dying father so that she can inherit his fortune. The children have the attic as ( Read more... )

i'm just posting so i can use my icon! look....it's from "one flew over the cuckoo's nest" but it's louise fletcher, who played olivia in the screen adaptation. (which sucks anyway).

i grew up on v.c. andrews books....loved the heaven series more than flowers though. i quit reading them after she died and the publishing co. started putting out books based on her manuscripts and crap.

going to look for tattoo ideas now that i have that out of my system.

I grew up reading them, too. They were so interesting and twisted!

OMG! That's Olivia, right? I just saw that movie a few weeks ago and didn't notice, but now I totally can! Wow.

The Casteel series is probably my favorite series as a whole, but FITA will forever be my favorite book. It's been about 13 years since I first read it, and I must have read it at least 25 times by now.

Have you read the Cutler and Landry series? They're the first that the ghostwriter did, but they're both very good. It's the ones that followed that turned to shit. :\

Thanks for looking!

i remember those names...cutler and landry...but i don't think i read the entire series. maybe i'll try them again.

i first read them when i was in junior high...probably 87 or 88. i remember being so pissed when i heard that she'd died. it's funny because i'm sure my mother would have never agreed to buy those books if she had read them first. lol.

i always enjoyed My Sweet Audrina....soooo soooo twisted yet all wrapped up in one little book. about 10 years ago, my landlady was moving out of our two family house and she had a bunch of junk out by the road. she told us to go get what we wanted...i found a bag of every VC Andrews books in that stash and laughed thinking of this little old lady reading them!

louise fletcher always plays the bitch in movies...did you like the movie?

VC Andrews is so strange. I read her books starting at like, grade 5. NOT GOOD.

I think you should just bring those ideas into a shop and get an artist to draw them for you, so you'll be able to explain what you want different & similar, and s/he can come up with something awesome just for you.

Haha, I was 11 the first time I read FITA. I was looking for something new to read and pulled it off my mother's bookshelf. She probably should've kept them out of reach.

My mom actually gave me the series to read since my older sisters were reading it, and I was/am such an avid reader that she figured it was okay. I was like :O when the brother and sister fooled around.

Hahaha, awesome. The Flowers In the Attic series have been a guilty pleasure of mine, ever since I got my tonsils out at 17, and my mom doled them out to me to keep me distracted from the pain. Definitely not what one would call decent literature, but so much fun all the same. I think it's awesome that you're getting ink for it.
