Hey all - I've been obsessively reading this community for hours, and I thought I'd share my own literary-ish tattoo.

I got it for several reasons: 1: I love words, all words, even conjunctions. 2: I love grammar, so maybe I should say I love all words, especially conjunctions. 3: I love arguing, and introducing opposing viewpoints, and as a bisexual half-Jewish feminist, I know that there is often more to an issue than first appears.

It's my first tattoo. The font is Splendid 66, a typewriter font. And yes, I know it would be very unusual usage to have however plus a colon, but it was the best and simplest way to communicate what I wanted to communicate.

And as we all know, tattoos are totally addictive, so I'm already planning my next one. I want to get "Look at this tangle of thorns" from the opening of Lolita, which is my favorite book. I'm thinking about placement, since I want to get it in an area I can hide easily or show easily, which makes me think the upper back, but I don't want it to look weird with my current tattoo. I also want to get it with some kind of rose emblem or motif, to represent both the "thorns" and my hometown and heart's love, Portland, Oregon.

But, since I waited three years to get this tattoo, I should probably wait at least six months or so for the next.

Anyway, hi! I've loved seeing all your tattoos.
