Return from the Desert

There are twin nightlights in the in the dual culinary suite, followed by two motion-activated lights, then a steadily blue LED slightly unset from my view, determined by the white screen and the sprawl of new sentences flickering across my fingers as they declare a tempo upon the keyboard. The scene is set, scored by folk music from the seventies, and underscored by what I have seen in the past months: Malàna, The Whole Nine Yards, 27 Dresses, Vantage Point, No Country for Old Men, In Bruges, Horton Hears a Who, Vodka Lemon, all of Veronica Mars, the first seasons of Desperate Housewives, Dexter, and Roswell, Kung-Fu Panda, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Ironman, Indiana Jones, 3:10 to Yuma, Sex and the City, Chasing Liberty, The Incredible Hulk, Hancock, Get Smart, Wanted, and The 11th Hour.

I've just returned from the Pittsburgh area, my first venture to Cranberry followed by Carlisle and the York campus, and hijinks along the Pennsylvania Turnpike involving a flipped table, pursuit of the elusive Wii Fit, and outlandish conversations with fast food employees.
