M&W Verse
James was standing in the bedroom of his two-floor apartment. His head cocked to one side, he looked at the amount of space he had in his bedroom, wondering how much he'd have left after Farah moved in. It didn't really matter, honestly, he was just happy to have had her agree to the idea. With a scratch behind his ear, he tilted his head the other way. It would be weird, and an adjustment. Well, it wasn't as though she didn't spend almost every single night there, as it was, but there was something .. official about the idea of them living together. Really living together. It wasn't just a matter of, "Whose apartment are we staying at tonight?" it was .. "I'll see you back at the apartment." Their shared apartment.
He walked out of the room and down the stairs to the main level of the place. He walked into the kitchen, then peered out into the living room through the space between the cabinets and breakfast bar. Farah was sitting on the couch, Ollie resting his head on her lap. James smiled faintly, already loving the way it all seemed to fit naturally. He grabbed the two of them a bottle of water and walked out, plopping on the other side of her. With a gentle kiss to her temple, he draped an arm around her and took a sip of his water.
"So, you're .. you're sure, right? That you want to do this?" he asked. He'd asked a million times before. But he'd keep asking until it was all finalized. "I mean, you're not pressured. I don't want to pressure you into moving." In the back of his mind, he always kept their age difference as an important fact to remember. He was seven years older than she was, but he was fairly certain she was much more mature than he, so .. maybe it evened out. He gave her a gentle squeeze. "I just want to make sure that you're not going to move in and then regret it, that's all," he explained, his voice going quiet.
