Let the posting begin!
Ok, so I promised pictures of the car... so I made a lil tribute thingy lol.. its kinda lame actually, but I was bored!
OUT with the OLD..smobille..
... and IN with the pretty red car...
(you gotta love the Jesus sign that came on it!)
SO, THIS LADY NEEDS A NAME... ANY IDEAS?.... The Winner gets uh... The Car named whatever it is!
And now, the Sarah and Lena adventure in...
so, after recovering wednesday night from a tiring drive, and getting honked at by umpteen million ppl for running the hidden red lights in Georgetown, we set out for the spy museum on thursday morning... They said no pics in the museum, but we climbed into an air duct and sneekily took them anyway :)
After that we decided to head for the East Art Museum... though on the way there we made a stop at Mellon Fountian, where Sarah moped on the bench cause she was tired of walking...
...and then we found these cool mirror sculpture window thingys....
... and finally we made it to the Art Museum... where I only took a few pics, but they were interesting nonetheless...
... paid too much for the wierd food there, and decided that a Carousel ride was a nice idea...
We hiked over to the Holocaust Museum, which was a bust, because apparently u had to be there at the ass crack of dawn to get the free passes to see the exhibits, because too many ppl wanted to visit them and there were probs with the fire codes, so they had to start doing passes with designated times... boo. We saved that for friday, and made our way to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing... and surprise surprise, we needed passes for that too... what to do next? hmmm... paddle boats in the Tidal Basin look like fun!
... there was a great view of the Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial...
... and all this while we ate our smuggled italian ices... lol the man who was at the boat rentals said we could only take water out there.. so we pretended to buy water... and but the ice thingys in my purse till we got to the middle of the basin... then yum! we are SUCH rebels!
At this point, we were kinda out of ideas of things to do, and not wanting to take a taxi back to Georgetown where Jennifer lives, and too lazy to figure out the bus schedule or locate a metro, we began a long ass journey back to her house... stopping long the way for some T-Shirts (3 for 10 bucks!) and these really good frozen coffee drinks at a place like Starbucks, but better! The sky had totally clouded over and we were sure that we were going to get drenched if not struck by lightning but we made it back before the rainstorm, and chilled with Jennifer's dog, Fred (a female boxer)
ehh.. kinda fuzzy, but whatever...
... and laid out on the cold stone floor of the basement for like an hour cause it was damn hot outside!
THEN we went to a middle eastern Restaurant called Levante where I think we had like 3 waitors... all who seemed inept in one area or the other... but whatever... and we had REALLY good hummus... and these chicken wrap thingys... and a hollowed out peach (?) filled with peach Sorbet for dessert.. we could not figure that one out, so we ordered it and took a picture:
it's kinda hard to see, but whatever...
Friday, I got up early, stood in line of the BIP passes... which ended up not being worth it in the end, cause that place SUCKED... and then waited like an HOUR for the Holocaust museum passes, which were worth it, but because we had to rush thru and be at the BIP so early, I think we missed a lot of stuff... but oh well...
(pics from the Holocaust Museum)
These are pics of this tower which is covered in pictures of ppl who died in the Holocaust... its really... profound.
A picture of this replica made of the concentration camps...
... after that we actually wised up and got on the Metro, went to Unios station where they have the BEST food ever... including Napoleons... which is the most yummy italian pastry ever! We went back to Jennifer's, took long ass naps, and then went to this REALLY good mexican Restaurant where they have the BEST Queso dip - made with Beer (lol) and super cool t-shirts that we are getting Jennifer to order for us when they get more in stock. We were going to go to a club, but we were so full that we went to Plywood Video (inside joke) and got Along Came Polly... and got Reses and Oreo Ice cream and went back to Jennifer's and got more full while watching it in bed on her laptop. We came home the next morning at the ass crack of dawn... hah! 3 hours & 45 minutes baby!
THE END
