jurors handed over a verdict yesterday awarding the victims of a hate crime $230K. my gf has been working on this case for over two years and it finally went to trial. she showed me pictures of the skinheads and they have large swastikas tattoooed all over their bodies. earlier in the trial one of the skinheads testifies and says "i'm not a racist anymore, my girlfriend is puerto rican." egregious.
when the verdict came down, the victim's father and i both saw one of the skinheads smirk. and as he walked out of the courtroom he tried to stare me down so i locked eyes with him. he's one weird dude.

A federal jury on Tuesday awarded $230,000 to an African-American family who said their lives had been devastated after three alleged skinheads assaulted their teenage children in a racially motivated attack near their Fox Lake home in 2002.
