SO MUCH JOY
That is, if you like the same things I like. And if you don't, why not? These things are objectively awesome.
thing one: there is snow on the ground here! I am fixated on this meteorological phenomenon, not a surprise at all.
thing two: slowascent wrote with all the poise of a cannonball for happyhockeydays It has Hall and Eberle and cookies and well-worded devices. There are many other delights, including a very special appearance from Captain Horcoff! (it now has a six-part comment which is only mostly poorly spelled -- which is why this enthusiasm is not enough.) read this thing!
thing three: some mysterious person (call me! that was creepy AND pathetic) wrote Winter Closing In for Yuletide. It has Lindros and LeClair and friendship and post-concussion syndrome and other good things too. It even has bitching about management, and complex metaphors. read this thing as well!
addendum to things two and three: I wrote some fun stuff! One is still [redacted] and the other is deeply silly, For this thing, for which detentionlevel suggested a theme of "oh, boys" and yours truly spent a few thousand words on 'your mom' jokes.
thing four: last night, my brother and his girlfriend went off to the Pens-Isles game, so I got to watch the Canes-Sens, which was: a total delight. Ward got his second shutout of the year! Boychuk, still tiny, got big goals! Jeffy "Crazylegs" Skinner took some weirdly aggressive penalties; tripping for lols. And then Crosby's streak, which has been discussed at extremely tedious length in our house, ended, suck it Tep!
thing five: I am still on vacation, and as such, have nothing in my life (that I am actually planning on doing) except: hockey. It is a theme, and possibly a motif? Much like in this Livejournal entry. LITERARY, I have also been reading some new fiction can you tell.
thing six: happy early new year! Previous resolutions have met with some measure of success (I measure them, I say they're successful) so this year: posting regularly on this Livejournal. I KNOW I KNOW this is thrilling to everyone -- you are all meant to be reading the stories above. Already: a classy success!
