Yuletide!

Dear Yuletide,

You just keep on being awesome, okay?

OHMYGOSH. Thank you, preemptively, for whatever you write. I have stated this before, in 2007, 2006 and 2005, but I really love cheerful things and well-crafted bits of prose. I am a sucker for dialogue, and cleverness. Het, gen, slash, really, although I have a pretty low squick barrier; I do dislike deathfic, really kinky things, and so on, but that is probably manifest in my fandom requests. Anything, though, and I mean, anything, will be loved and cuddled and generally personified, even vampire AU's. I mean this.

Pamela Dean, Tam Lin
The literary references! The snark! The overthinking! Minnesota in the wintertime! It's completely beautiful, and I adore all of the small things about it. And many of the larger things, although I'm still not convinced that there is actually a plot to this; I'm pretty sure it's just shiny wonderful things strung together. Which is good! It is a lasting mechanism. Really.

William Shakespeare, I and II Henry IV
So, uh! Part of the second tetralogy, it's pretty great. There weren't any characters to choose from here, but from the details, it is fairly obvious what I really like, and what I don't, i.e. I am the only human alive who does not love the tavern scenes, or at least, not in the usual, jovial way. They're pretty sad, and indicate, to me at any rate, the personal disasters to come. Along with a good deal of booze, yes. If you would like to argue me away from this interpretation, feel free! Or, you know, anything at all. Family hijinks! They totally had Lancastrian Family Game Night, With Emo Manpain! And Percy family grumpiness about the weather and the Scots! Or, or, or...I can go on about this fandom endlessly, really.

Alexander Pushkin, Eugene Onegin
I initially requested this for some fun Tatyana/Onegin shippiness, and handwringing over that, because I am all about the failure of courtly love. Fine, fine, so it's unlikely. I simply adore the descriptions in the canon, all the fine things, and of course, the various relationships. I'd prefer this one to stay close to canon; however, if you feel that it would work better on a spaceship, I would...probably actually pass out with glee.

"The Lion in Winter"
Ohman! This is such an excellent movie. There's so much subtext, and it's all overthought. Or, I overthink it. I like the uncomfortable family feeling, the completely odd relationships that are crafted, and of course, the hot. Uh. this is probably the one family where creepy closeness would be suitable. COME ON, it's got Geoffrey in it!

If you can still tolerate this, or want any extra information, I spend a good deal of time talking about fandom and things that are really terrific in general, in faded-lilac's presence.

OH I AM EXCITED. This is going to be so much fun!
