I had constructed a series of great jokes about myself, Pepin the Short and Joseph Stalin, but I realised that they were a)unfunny and b)kinda hugely insensitive to people who aren't me, and would therefore translate poorly to text. Or, really, anyone else's consciousness; I discovered this after nearly getting into a slapfight during Multifaith Council over an ill-timed joke. That is the kind of excitement we have all the time. Really.
Spent much of the afternoon working on a thematic list, and plumbing the depths of the fannish tidal pools. My conclusion thus far? Holy God, fandom is really crazy.
Have been reading Virgil's Georgics. Smooth, sweet, and formally, some the best poetry ever, and just now, it's finally starting to knock me down.
