Past, Present (and Never)
House by nieded
House/Wilson, things that may have been, and children. I wish I had something insightful to say about character here, but I don't really. But it does!

Spooks
Lost by alliecat8
Sawyer, and ghosts. Ooh, yes. I can see little Sawyer doing this, waiting out on the porch to defeat the unknowable. Oh, he so would, and we know it.

An Unexamined Life
The Sentinel by Helen
Jim gets a boyfriend, and Blair isn't quite sure what to make of it all. I really enjoy the moments with Jim outside of the context of Blair, but lest we worry that our boys won't get back together, it's alright. I really like how Jim adjusts to what's going on, with such equanimity. And yes, the sex is hot all the way through, and there are nice brushes with the outside world.

Cards on the Table
Stargate: SG-1 by helsinkibaby
Janet/Carson, with a side of Daniel. Post-"Meridian" Daniel, like Jack, checks up on that which he loves. This is utterly fitting, in many ways.

The Lock Inside
Firefly by voleuse
Kaylee, Wash, and Serenity. Aww. The platonic relationship to end all platonic relationships. Whoo! They'd never in a million years actually do it, but still, this very special relationship remains.

Compares With You
Stargate:SG-1 by daisycm83
Sweet Sam/Jack fic that doesn't make me want to stab my eyes out. Aww. They get together, the whole thing is mellow, and it's quiet, and told, not shown. That is how we do it.

So Illya wasn't quite Piotr, and Napoleon wasn't quite Illya, and nobody was Napoleon, and Illya was starting to feel like that unfortunate girl in Carroll's book. Except this hotel, no matter how nice, was no Wonderland.
The 'To Thine Own Self Be True' Affair
The Man From UNCLE by Taliesin
Napoleon thinks he's Illya. Illya doesn't know what to think. Sexy, dramatic and exciting. I really liked the early scenes of partnership, so much of what makes these two work well is clear, there.

A Clark/Lex Epic of Staggering Genius
Smallville by wearemany and runpunkrun
Lex's heartbreaking work of staggering genius. Ohyes, you thought it couldn't get any more post-modern, and you were wrong. Works better if you've read Eggers, but this is pretty shiny anyrate. This presents vignettes, which work well for these two, because really, they're so epic, larger than life, almost Aeschylusian, and while Smallville fic generally involves getting them out of that, and frequently, on their backs, the not-sexy bits are somewhat troubling. But this works, with footnotes, and explanations, and recriminations.

The EPIC STORY of the Toaster-Sitters Club
Baby Sitter's Club/BSG by fox1013 Yes, this fandom wins at life. I like Claudia, and yes, I remember reading all the books. Funny and crossovery, and then a little more serious now, with Roslin and all that.

Enterprise and Enterprising
Star Trek: Enterprise by Gigi Sinclair
HA! Star Trek! Hilarious, somewhat meta commentary on Enterprise. Pride and Prejudice, with Archer as Bingley and Hayes as Darcy? Yes, more please! I like all of the references to previous shows, and it does say something about Trek, that it blends so well with Austen?

Jim because he remained unconvinced that his partner was in no way shape or form connected with the great hide-the-donuts-from-the-Sentinel conspiracy, and Blair because he thought his beloved Sentinel was a moron with an unhealthy fixation for artery endangering pastries.
Manly Men
The Sentinel by msgordo
Featuring the most awkward conversation ever. Jim and Blair are in that way, but not in the that way that everyone thinks. Read that again, and you'll realize how awkward that conversation with Brown is. Hilarious, terrifyingly uncomfortable, and also, kinda hot. Oh, we all knew that they all have something going. And I really like how codependent Major Crimes are, they ask each other for personal advice. Okay, I also think the main pairing here? So hot.

My New Pants
Scrubs by misspamela
JD has girly pants on. Irrepressibly silly and fun. One day, and a bad wardrobe choice can change it all. This is definitely a "squirt-milk-out-of-nose" kind of story. JD says dumb things, but luckily, the rest of them are even worse. I really cannot do it justice here.

My Big Breakup
Scrubs by iamsab
Things suddenly change and JD is not quite sure what to make of it all. Then again, neither is anyone else, so that's okay. I really enjoyed this, it's silly and loud, and has a great JD narration, which really does make it. That, and how it's not a break-up at all. Whee.

There is a silence.
A very, very long silence.
I would be willing to bet that this is the longest silence ever.
My Problem
Scrubs by rionaleonhart
JD, meet your brain. I like JD's hallucinations, they're very comforting. And silly, also silly. JD/Cox, magnificently ill-matched and somehow just right. And also, a great JD voice that I want to squish.

Benevolent Sibiling
Battlestar Galatica by mercurial_wit
AHAH! The Cylons, and a show. I cannot say anymore without ruining it, but really! Crack!fic, and brilliant!

Untitled
Battlestar Galatica 2003/Muppets by fox1013
HAHA! Crack!crossover. There is clearly, enough crazy to go around. A abundance, even.

The Empress of Ice Cream
Jossverse by mosca
Harmony! Ha! This is great fun, all the things Harmony can do. She's lost people, and gained people, and is really quite unsure which is less painful. Bubbly and silly, but with a pretty dark undercurrent. This works really well, and not only because it shows what everything could be like, after.

you forgot it in people
Veronica Mars by passionflows
Meg and Veronica want. More accurately, Meg is really perceptive, and Veronica has grown in good ways. Wow. Frustrated women, and it's hot, and really pinpoints the characters. I think my favorite part is all the little glimpses of other figures from the show, especially Duncan and Madison. Ah!

On the Outside
NCIS by Rebecca
Kate chats. Okay, Kate probably never chats, but it we have a second-person voice here, done unusually well, and I am making stylistic usage of whatever comes to hand. DiNozzo/Gibbs, and yes, you are wondering how Kate might fit into this all, hmm? It's an interesting usage of second-person, and captures what Kate must have felt like. And also, oddly hot. Somewhat like Gordon Brown.

I Will Be With You Again
Sports Night by phoebesmum
Dan gives out a lot of love, and finds it harder and harder. Luckily, there is a happy ending. But, really, no one can resist seeing Dan hurt, because he does it so well.

Just Like the Richard Gere Movie
Stargate:Atlantis by miss-porcupine
Marines talk, don't they? This story shows us a side of them that the show never actually gives us. Funny and touching, planning for the departure, with food, porn and rumors. I really like stories that are narrated from the point of view of a minor character, and this fits that perfectly. Heck, it's in character, or at least, what you'd imagine the characters to be like, if they, actually, y'know, existed.

Mud, Mead, and Lice
A Little Sting
Highlander by unovislj
Methos/Darius. Confusing identities, religion and France. Deftly characterized, and interesting. They do have a long history, and sadly, the show didn't get to explore that. These two stories perfectly conjure up a mood, and how in love am I with that mood? A lot.

Tell Me Enough (To Make Me Know That You Are Glad)
Battlestar Galatica by rawles
Anders! I am beginning to realize that I probably should have watched more of the show. Sam loves Kara, but Starbuck loves Apollo. Ooh, twists! This makes my little heart hurt for Anders, and realize exactly what the repercussions are, after they've finally settled. Obviously, nothing could be easy.

Double Indemnity
Harry Potter by das-kabinett
Fred and George, as detectives. Mmm, yes. They fit so well into this archtype, and actually make it feel like a 1940's mystery story, but with pranks, magic, and silly. They're also still recognizably Fred and George, annoying and loutish. I enjoy how they manage to get wrapped up in the mythos, with Snape. Well-executed plot, with a nice, period mood? Yes, please!

Not So Complicated
RPS by app1e_pi
Ah, so hot. Billy Boyd/Sean Bean. Mmm, that's almost all I have to say. Billy wants someone, and Sean is blisteringly hot. Okay, it's porn. That is its redeeming feature. In-character and tremendously well-written porn, but you, know, I am currently distracted by the sheer hotness.

Every Good Mother's Son
Battlestar Galatica 2003 by nifra-idril
Billy, oh Billy! He is (was?) my favorite character on BSG, so obviously, look at me be really biased. Motherhood and love, and Billy! Let's see how many sentences in this rec I can end with "Billy!" At any rate, I like both mothers here, and there's a wonderful depth of feeling, and Billy! Okay, I'll shut up now. (Billy!)

Imaginary Husbands of the African Savanna
Sports Night by mosca
Yet another reason why Sally and Dana will never like each other. Sports husbands, silly arguments, etcetera. Sadly, I must said with Natalie here, but it's still an illuminating fic.

Flashback
Star Trek: Enterprise by The Ragged Rose
Reed has to go to the past! In an alternate universe, there's bomb disposal, and British people, and wow. Well-plotted, interesting, and rewarding. Nice hints at an Archer/Reed relationship. And also, time-travel! Enemies are out of space and time, so of course, our hero has to be as well.

The Devil's Right Hand
RPS by ethrosdemon
Ohyay! Hot Jared/Jensen sex, and snarky and funny and yay! I have nothing to say for myself.

Oh, oh my hands ache. Part I
