Gosh, meta!
So, Star Wars how I love thee.
Star Wars was the first canon I was really devoted to. And I still love it, hundreds of other sci-fi canons later. Seriously, hundreds. Nothing if not exhaustive.
Really, the special effects which seemed so groundbreaking pale in comparsion to stuff that you routinely see in movies today. Even the climatic flights of various Alliance guys, and the explosions? Look kinda cheap, after seeing things like...Gollum.
But I do love my canon. So much, and it has informed so much of my watching/reading habits that I can't help but be drawn in.
So, thanks Star Wars for being so glorious.
