So Friday was the Commute From Hell. I mean that, seriously.
Most of you know that I drove myself home from Wooster for break on Friday, and on the way I was supposed to drop Angela off at the Pittsburgh Airport (cuz it was much cheaper than Cleveland. And of course, I made it home, and she actually did make it to the airport on time (ten minutes or so to spare!)....but...
Well, y'all know how the weather went. It took us THREE HOURS just to get out of Ohio, when usually I would have been home half an hour before that! Literally, we sat on Route 30 for 45 minutes between Hanoverton and Lisbon.
Then, coming down the hill into East Liverpool, while we were listening to the Spice Girls... Henry's tires slipped--perhaps I was going too fast? I don't know, the roads were awful--and he headed straight into the median. After his bumper crashed into the Jersey barrier, his brakes locked, and we did two complete 360s in the middle of the highway. And came to a stop perpendicular across both lanes. And sat there for like thirty seconds going OMIGODAREWEDEAD!?
But we weren't even scratched, and Henry came out of it with little more than a smushed bumper. And once we got into Pennsylvania, the snow fucking vanished and turned into rain. Yeesh. I was so excited that Angela made her flight, and didn't have to be trapped in my house all night, that it didn't make much of a difference that it took me an hour and a half to get home from the airport (car crash + road construction, blaahh)...
This is why I slept for 15 hours on Friday night. Oi. Hope yinz aren't buried in Cleveland, heard you got 20 inches o'snow!
