i never though i'd say this, but i am so glad it's monday. well, Memorial Day, in particular. because this past weekend was the weekend from hell, i know it was.
friday was ok because my LB team won the bra sale event contest, so we got a free bra and panty set. it was kinda a bummer when the bras i wanted didn't come in my size (well, they do, we had just sold out), and when i finally found a bra in my size that i wanted, i couldn't get the "matching" panties. well, i finally settled on a bra i'd been eyeing for some time in a different style, a plunge with pink, orange, and green stripes, that actually had matching panties in different cuts too. and when i get my paycheck, i can buy the matching jammy bottoms, too!
anyway, yeah, friday was fine. but then saturday came, and i was not a happy camper. aside from certain biological happenings that at least had the decency to come during a three day weekend, i was determined to have a good day and sleep well into the double digits. and then i got a call from my former manager at nine in the morning, asking me to come and work at her store for a few hours. i reluctantly said no. and then the cable company called looking for their money, which i later paid, and that made me almost cry. and to top it all off, my computer started running so slowly, like taking five minutes to load a page, that i thought it was going to crash. so i deleted a lot of things and ran a virus scan that, due to the massive amounts of files on my hard drive, took five hours to complete. i was so pissed off, really. so i went to bed early.
and then sunday came along. i was on call at work, meaning i had to call in two hours prior to my on call shift to find out if they need me. so i called at noon, and the new manager answered. i told her i was on call and asked if they needed me, and she returned with, "can you wait an hour, and i'll call you if i need you?" THAT IS NOT HOW THIS WORKS. i don't live that close to the store, and i need thirty minutes to an hour to get ready (depending on if i need to shower), and she wants me to wait? but i agreed, thinking that if someone hasn't called in sick by now, they're not going to. so 1:15 rolls around and my phone rings, and it's her asking if i can come in! leaving me thirty minutes to get ready (when i needed a shower) because i have to leave at 1:45 to get there on time, without traffic. i was so livid. and it turns out, no one even called in sick! i have no clue why she even called me in! argh!!
but it wasn't all bad. i stayed as far from her as i could at all times, and then some hours later, i went to a friend's house to eat and watch Hercules. Kevin Sorbo is always a pick-me-up. and today is a monday and i have absolutely nothing to do! besides paint my nails. never thought a monday could be so nice.
