My Last Monday

I start school next week. :(

I have just under a week to go before I have to face thirty six new Gr.3's. I had so much I wanted to do in this LJ and I just ran out of time! Ack!

Anyway, it's never too late, right?

Here are some things that have tickled me and my Muse these holidays.
A year ago I bought a book called 'Colour- A workshop for Artists and Designers' by David Hornung. I finally had a chance to start the workshops these holidays and it's been so much fun working with real, tangible tools! The downside is that brushes have to be washed and paint can get runny and you have to wait for your colours to dry. Not to mention the paint, gouache, is bloody expensive!
But I've had fun using some of the colour experiments with prints I made of some of my more recent pics in KM. I just went crazy cutting and sticking and playing with gorgeous pieces of colour and patterns and textures. A little weird doing something so photoshoppy in RL! ;)

I was asked by a friend if I could make a collage of family photos for her husband's family for Christmas. I jumped at the chance and had the most gorgeous old photos to play with. There's something about those faded, golden colours from pics from the seventies- I loved doing it. She told me the other day that her father-in-law cried when he saw it. :)
