Ultra Strong Game Part 2 and Utaban... too much

Jun 27, 2008 00:40

This is my type of show. Completely. If it was on TV, I would watch it, without subtitles, even if Arashi wasn't there.

But Arashi makes it 15 billion times better.

not really slow connection friendly. Sry

Ultra Strong Game is some type of Honda sponsored special TV promotional thing. The Power of Dreams. There's a horrible amount of unnecessary drama and competition. There are totally amazing people doing crazy and pointless activities just to make things interesting. I love it.

So, first, each member of Arashi gets a team with two girls and another guy. Lots of these people participated in the Olympics and such.

Because each member is given their own team to lead, it's not like the Arashi I'm used to watching at all. I like some aspects of this, because we get to see different sides of them that don't show up as often in the mostly comfortable group setting.

My general impressions are below, along with bad quality screen caps. And a few gifs. Only of Aiba. How did THAT happen? The format for this file was really odd, and caps didn't come out well. T.T

iyaaaa, non-chronological, ordered by Arashi member, so incomprehensible if you haven't seen it.
Yep.

Ohno is very very spirited throughout the entire show, and his team seems to love him, and he loves his team. He cheers a lot, and laughs, GOD, I love his laugh. His team doesn't fail any of the stages.

Ohno's team does incredibly well in all the tasks, even getting first place in the horribly swimming stage and earning 2 points/keys,
...
but

in the end... Tie with Sho-chan! (leader fell under pressure T.T) To be fair, he was trying to balance on shaky floating things and being bombarded by tons of volleyball looking things. And he looked cool before he failed.

Sho, like Ohno, is also very energetic, and team love is high. They don't hesitate to run up and hug each other after tasks are completed, just a friendly comfortable atmosphere, all the time. Seriously, Sho is probably up there with Nino for awesome. His arms are not useless(YAY). And this guy is FAST! Total pawned all the others in the race, even Aiba.

Sho and his close-knit team

BWAHAHA, Sho and Ohno watching the announcer be thrown into the water by Mr. Hustle!

OMG X_x hip hop much?

Well, whatever, SHO YAY!

And the WINNING TWO!

Matsujun, because he is complete fail at many things, kind of gives off a sad image. He seems like he feels bad for letting the team down. Really, he's not the only one who just can't do these games well.

Sometimes the camera catches Matsujun cheering, but not with his team like Sho and Ohno.

This though... the tongue has been around for a LONG time. arrrgg, but somehow endearing.

Failure might bring the team a little closer. But, I have problems watching Matsujun mess up--It's weird, because for anyone else in Arashi, I can just laugh if they fail, but for Matsujun it's hard. Recently, in VS Arashi and such, I am learning to appreciate the cuteness of Jun's total suckiness at those type of games. However, in this I can't handle it. Skimmed both scenes of Matsujun fail ^_^;

Jun's team talking to him after the latest fail fest.

Aiba is a ball of energy at some points, but at others he seems a little less upbeat. Perhaps we see a little more of his serious side. He connects with his teammates during the punishment game (more on that below). However, he doesn't bond nearly as much as Ohno and Sho.

Aiba's team looses the second task, the one with the race/obstacle course, and they have to do a punishment game. SKY DIVING! O_o. I had to make gifs of this,, because it's the scariest, most awesome thing EVER. I have a feeling that Aiba was seriously, completely, terrified. Everyone was terrified. One of his teammates couldn't stop crying, and he had to keep patting her head and holding her hand. OMG.

NOW, For Aiba, there must be gifs! This boy just is soo much better in motion!

Before the sky diving begins, the Australian guy is trying to explain what to do. Partially in English. And you know, even though Aiba might have the best English in Arashi, that does NOT make it okay to use English to explain what to do when jumping out of a plane hundreds of meters above ground!!! GAWD X_x

And that man gets to touch Aibaby way too mcuh! even though it's kinda cute

In the plane. The door is RIGHT in front of Aiba. thankfully he's tied to the guy sitting behind him, but it looked like he could really fall out!

T___T, AIBA, IT'S OKAY! You live, see?

This. is. the. SCARIEST THING EVER. I had no idea that skydiving would frighten me so much. GOSH.

As mentioned above, the connection of Aiba with his team is good, but not like Ohno's and Sho's. Maybe he would rather be in a team with Arashi. XD

To Matsujun---"You can do it, go, go, go!"
Matsujun was trying his best not to be the slowest at the INCREDIBLY difficult swimming test, and Aiba has the most sincere, earnest face and says "Gambatte", like he really doesn't want Jun to lose at all, and they aren't on competing teams or anything. Of course, no one wants to see Jun fail, but Aiba's face is so lovable.

Nino and his team are pretty good. They do well on all the stages besides the last one, where Nino is the only one who passes. Something weird, they don't really show this team celebrating or cheering at all (am I remembering correctly?).

XD, I think Nino misses standing next to the members of Arashi, because he's always being filmed next to them instead of his own team. I'm not completely imagining this! Also, I think he very much misses his armrest. He tries another guy out, to see if he can replace Ohno, but the guy looks at him, and kinda smiles, and Nino might have gotten weirded out. XDD. Purely speculation of course.

Nino and his replacement armrest. (You can only see Nino's hand on the shoulder, but in movement, you can definitely tell that it's him.)

Looking a little lost?

Nino is amazing. Over and over and over, I think to myself, 'Oh, this is something Nino won't be good at'. BUT HE PROVES ME WRONG EVERY SINGLE TIME. Firstly, like I said before, his legs are really strong.
Aiba struggled a little getting up this huge cone shaped thing, and the strong man on Sho's team made it look hard, and the girl from Ohno's team failed, and Jun couldn't answer the quiz question so he didn't even have the chance to try, but for Nino--for Nino it seemed completely easy and fast.

Another look.

THEN, there is the swimming stage. I think it's pretty common knowledge that Nino does not really do well with water. He hates the ocean. XD
Why would he be able to swim well?
BUT

shirt? Jun swam without a shirt, but I don't want to over analyze this. XD

Starting point... THIS is an ultra scary swimming course thing. While swimming underwater and suffering oxygen deprivation, you have to find the key and open the treasure chest. Not knowing the layout of the course, this is 100 times more scary, because there are moments when you CANNOT come up for air, and you don't know where they start and end.

He does so well, WHYYYY is Nino good at everything?!

So Neener struggles for like 10 sec, and it was making my heart hurt, but the next try went good. ^_^

Thought these were beautiful. Just like a mermaid. ^___^

And he finishes in 2 min, 9 sec! CLEAR

And, lastly!
The Matsumiya... *blissful sigh* Even before they got to bond over the scary, life-threatening diving segment, Jun and Nino had some cute moments. I thought I was seeing a lot recently, but it cannot compare.

Nice and casual... kyaaaaa. right before the Aiba sky diving.

Nino and Matsujun first deciding to take part in the underwater treasure chest opening timed challenge!

Jun watching Nino at the start of the Underwater thing. Nino watching Jun start the underwater thing. So serious. And pretty. That's why this counts as Matsumiya pic, ya know?

Nino giving Jun pointers about the swimming underwater, incredible scary, OMG, what if they DROWN?, stage.

People, this is a really good moment in Arashi history, so I hope everyone has the chance to watch it sometime. ^____^

Utaban today. YAY. I've actually seen a mixed reaction to this one. Hmmmm, I didn't like everything about it, it seemed too structured, but some things made me really love it. Like, a lot alot alotalot. XD

Laughing through the window

I am LIKING his TAN!

So cheerful today! Aibaby, yaaaaa

XDDD, baiting Nakai

Maaaaa, love these two together ^___^

Explaning the thumb injury, something about a massage making it heal faster. Look at Nino's expression

^______^

Love how Nino helps hold the board. And Nino's rank is...
Least Messy, or, Most Organized!

Aiba is the the biggest Baka EVER (and he likes it when you call him that!) Look how he picks up Ohno's board, and even though Ohno is reaching for it from the start...

LOL.
and. Ohno's hands are LOVE

firstly, a little flashback
Remember Aiba's smackage of Nino?

Well, Nino gets some REVENGE
NOW

LOL, reaching over Matsujun!
That's what you get for taking Oh-chan's board!

preeety

and...

AIBA GETS THE MUSTARD FILLED CREAM PUFF. poor baby. XDD

laughter warms the heart. awwwwww. :D

From now on, will we really only see 'Arashi' preformed on Utaban?
