A lot happened over this past weekend. As I mentioned earlier I had my belly dance recital on Saturday evening. I'm happy to report that it went wonderfully! All of the dancers were amazing and we had so much fun! I'm slowly collecting pictures, so I should have many to share with you soon. Someone was also able to video tape the performances, so once I get a copy of that I'll upload it to youtube.
Earlier that day I was able to squeeze in some much needed appointments. My insurance from work kicked in and I was able to go in for an eye appointment. I ordered new contact lenses, which I definitely needed. I also need to get new glasses frames, but we'll see how much those cost. I wear my contacts more anyway.
I also made time to visit my regular doctor for my yearly exam. While I was there I was able to talk to her about different forms of birth control. I decided that I wanted to give the pill a try. She wrote me a prescription for Yaz and I figured I would try it out for a month and see how it works. There's been no horrible mood swings yet, but we'll see how it goes. The downside: each refill is going to cost me 71 dollars in copay fees. Jesus Christ. I'm going to contact her and see if there's something slightly less expensive that I could look into trying. Another option that I'm thinking of looking into is an IUD. While this can be much more expensive, it pays for itself rather quickly seeing how it can last 5 to 10 years.
Okay, everyone NEEDS to start watching
Ugly Americans. It's one of Comedy Central's new shows and it's on Wednesday's at 10:30 PM. It is HILARIOUS! OMG YOU GUYS. SERIOUSLY FUNNY SHIT. This is the excerpt from their website:
"Take New York City, add every horrifying beast, science-fiction freak, and fantasy faerie, shake thoroughly, and you've got UGLY AMERICANS. This animated horror-comedy series follows one Mark Lilly, social worker at the Department of Integration, as he helps new citizens both human and "other" adapt to hectic life in the Big Apple.
There are easier tasks than weaning vampires off of blood, socializing land-whales, and housebreaking werewolves, but Mark is up to the challenge. Between his stressful job, a zombie roommate, and a demon ex-girlfriend, Mark's lucky if he can sneak in a few minutes of sleep. But who can sleep when there's a drop-dead gorgeous Mermaid sitting at the bar?"
