Who ever would have thought that turning 21 could be so much fun? I had an awesome time last weekend in Vegas! Really, it was one of the best birthdays yet. And now, my friends, sit back and relax, for I bring you the tale of my 21st Birthday Extravaganza!
I drove home from school on Friday afternoon. My mom planed a day of pampering for the both of us, and we both ended up getting manicures and pedicures. That evening, my parents took myself, my boyfriend, and my friend Kari out for dinner. Than it was back to our place for cake and a movie. We ended up watching
Dead Alive, which is one of Peter Jacksons earlier films. It was good, but so, so, gross! This was the first movie where I actually felt ill after watching it.
Saturday morning my parents and I left for the airport. The flight was short, and when we landed we went straight to the hotel, which happened to be the
Las Vegas Hilton. I can't say I'm the biggest fan of staying at Hilton hotels anymore, because I always feel like I'm providing to Paris' trust fund, lol. Anyway, we didn't have anything scheduled until the evening, so I decided I would try my hand at gambling for the first time. Oh, man, it's so fun! I now understand how people can spend hours in casinos. I enjoyed the slots, as they were the simplest (they had a Star Wars one! FTW!), but I also had fun with black jack, poker, and roulette. I didn't really win much (nor did I lose much), but I still had fun. After we had our fun walking the strip and visiting different hotels, it was time to go back to our hotel and get ready for the concert.
Maroon 5 were playing their last tour stop at the
Palms Hotel. My parent's would have seen the show with me, but the tickets were a bit expensive, so they bought me one and they went and saw a movie in the hotel instead. First off, I was SO close to the stage! It was awesome! I'm talking so close I could see Adam Levine's arm pit sweet, It was beautiful, lol. I was in the standing section, and there were only three rows of people in front of me. Even though I was there by myself, I made friends with the people around me. One lady and her 14 year old daughter were especially nice, and they sent me pictures of the concert afterwards. Surprisingly, the only thing that was rather disturbing did not come from a group of teenage girls, but rather from a group of middle aged women. 0_o They were worse than the teenagers! Not only were they dressed way too young for their age, they were screaming and making complete fools of themselves. Other than that, the concert was awesome, and I loved it. Let's just say I was thanking my parent's profusely afterwards.
On Sunday we shopped a bit and did some more sight seeing. I was also surprised because my mom surprised me with tickets to see
Thunder From Down Under! I didn't think we were still seeing them because they bought me a Maroon 5 ticket, but I was wrong. :D OMG, it was awesome! So incredibly cheesy, but awesome none the less. The whole show is basically an hour and a half of different choreographed dance routines, in which the dancers eventually strip down to nothing but a g-string. They were so purrdy. What I find interesting is that unlike male strip clubs, where if you touch the strippers you get escorted out of the building, they encouraged touching here! Lots and lots of touching. After the show we went back to the hotel and had a drink at the bar. Well, I didn't actually drink, but I sat at a bar. I did order something, but my step-dad ended up drinking it, lol. I'm just not one for alcohol.
On Monday afternoon we flew home, and that was the end of Vegas. My present report this year was great though, too. Vegas was my present from my mom and step dad, but my boyfriend bought me season 3 of
Angel and the complete series of
Invader Zim! And, finally, the biggest present of them all: my dad bought me the
Chosen Collection, which features all seven seasons of Buffy! WOOT! :D I am so happy to finally own this, lol.
Blowing out my candles!
Kari, Me, and Alex.
Adam Levine in the flesh!
This is his sexy face, lol. And I just noticed the position of that mans hand.
Adam flirting with the audience. He totally knew the affect he was having on us, lol.
My mom and I before Thunder From Down Under.
Me with the Thunder From Down Under boys! Yes, that is really them!
Anyway, I think I need to get to bed now. Good night everyone! :D
