The heptalogy is complete!

I might just possibly be the last person in the world to have finished the final Harry Potter book. That's right, I finally finished it! Go me! :D

It took freakin' forever! The main reason it took so long was because I've been preoccupied with other things, such as school, work, friend, boy friend, etc. I also think I was taking my sweet time because I knew it was the last one and I was sad to see it end. :(

My opinion on it as a whole? LOVED IT! It dragged a bit in the middle, but once it got near the end I couldn't put it down, I just had to know what happened next. I'll put the rest of my feelings behind a cut, just on the rare chance that someone else isn't done with the book yet.

I enjoyed the story line quite a bit, aside from the parts that seemed to lag a bit during the middle. That's why I'm really excited for the film adaptation actually, because aside from the story just being awesome, there's a bunch of material that they can cut out while still keeping the main plot points in.

I was actually surprised by the character deaths. The death that happened to affect me the most was Hedwig's. I simply adored that owl, and to see him die in the crossfire was so heartbreaking. :( Fred was also a really sad death, especially after resolving things with Percy only minutes before. I really like the twist that Snape's character took and the things we were able to learn about his past before his death. Is it weird that I was sad when Bellatrix died as well? I can't help it! She's just so cool, and evil, and sexy.

I loved what J.K. did with Harry's character. Pulling the old "he has to die...but that doesn't necessarily mean he has to stay dead." I remember fans arguing over whether or not Harry was an actual Horcrux, and I think it only makes sense that he was. Also, does Neville kick ass, or what? His character ended up showing the most growth throughout the series, and I absolutely loved it.
