OMG, SO COOL!
So, earlier this evening I got a phone call from my sister telling me to turn on MTV because they were doing a news segment on Buffy!
I checked it out, and I was delighted and surprised to see that MTV News was covering an event know as Buffy Sing-A-Long.
Thats right: Buffy Sing-A-Long!! :D
OMG, how fucking cool is that?!
I immediately had to check out their website and I loved what I saw.
Buffy Sing-A-Long is basically the same as a midnight showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, only instead, using the sixth season Buffy musical episode "Once More, With Feeling."
Fans are encouraged to participate in the show by singing along, shouting out lines, and using items provided to them in fun goodie bags. Before the show starts, there's trivia contests and something called "Buffy-oke" where audience members are chosen to reenact certain scenes from the show.
I'm really sad, though, because right now it looks like they're only doing performances on the East Coast. *SOB!!* :(
They said on their web page that they are working on getting together to put on a nationwide show and that there would be dates posted on the site by the end of the month. :D
I told my sister that if they get anywhere near the Northern California area we are SO seeing this! I don't care, lol, I'll skip class and pull her out of school with me! I want to see this so bad! Arrrggh!
