Kwan put down his book, frowning at the door to his room. What exactly was Lancer doing out there? He had heard movement all day long but hadn't bothered to check on it until now. Getting up, he crossed the room and yanked the door open. "What are you doing?" he asked, lifting a brow as he stared at Lancer.

Lyonell was mid-kneel, laying track heading right into Kwan's room when the door opened. He looked like a giant 5 year old in his conductor's overalls, scarf, and hat. "Umm... nothing?" he answered, pulling the same 5 year old's attempt at innocence.

Kwan stared at Lancer than past the man at the tracks set up through the hallway leading to his room. "Sir, are you okay?" he asked in concern as he crouched down before Lancer.

"Sure, sure, I'll be fine," Lyonell said as a brush-off. "Just let me get this track laid. Can I have your room?" He finished lining up the track he was laying and hooked it up to the rest of the line before grabbing another piece of track and beginning to lay it into Kwan's room as though he'd already given permission.

"Um, I guess," Kwan answered in a mumble, seeing Lancer already laying out the track. "Why do you need it to go through my room?"

"Because it's not big enough," Lyonell replied, as though this were paramount to everything. "It needs to go everywhere!" He finished laying the piece of track and reached for another... Dammit, he was out again. "I need to get more track," he mumbled.

"Just how big do you plan to make it?" Kwan asked, frowning at him.

"I don't know..." Lyonell mused. "How big do you think it could be?" He looked at Kwan expectantly. He had all the questions, maybe he had answers too...

Kwan rubbed his head. "I guess it really depends on how many tracks you have to lay," he mumbled.

"I laid them all awhile ago," Lyonell admitted, sounding just a bit nutty. "Bought more, laid them. Bought some more, laid them. Need more again. Hmm... We don't need food next week, do we?"

Kwan gaped at Lancer. "Sir, I really think you shouldn't buy anymore!" he said in alarm.

Lyonell pouted. "But why?" he asked with a bit of a whine.

"Well, because food is more important," Kwan explained awkwardly. "Are you sure you're all right, Sir?"

"I don't think I am," Lyonell admitted in a small voice. He sat on the floor and curled up enough to rest his arms on his knees and hide his head there. "No I'm not..."

Kwan frowned as he watched Lancer. He moved closer to the man and wrapped his arms around him, trying to offer Lancer some comfort.

Lyonell returned Kwan's hug and just held him. It felt good to have some sort of anchor. "What went wrong?" he asked. "Where did we go wrong?"
