Wow. I like this Xander. It is a very mature perspective, and yeah, maybe it's a bit petty, but he doesn't deny it. It's also a good set up for the weird derisiveness/respect vibe that these two had going on, especially after Angelus.

Xander had better watch his back. Angel can't stand him and you know that he is going to tell Buffy what Xander said. Granted I agree on some levels about the age difference but is Xander jealous of Angel or Buffy. Sometimes Xander just doesn't know when to shut up. He didn't even let Angel defend himself. I kind of forgot how full of himself he was during season 1. Him hiding in the bushes sounds like he was stalking Buffy and Angel. Xander needs to get over himself in this. Not everyone even his age knows half of the stuff he was talking about. As far as VCR's go not everyone can operate one. Great story.

Oh, I think Xander has made Angel do some serious thinking here. I'm not sure Angel ever thought of what he was doing in terms of what it looked like from the outside, so given Xander's (admittedly) petty sniping and brutal honesty, he may have to reevaluate. And for teens, the ability to work tech or not is pretty much an indicator of how "out of it" you are.
